Includes household production and household actions research (consumption, time use, use of domestic services), consumer behaviour, knowledge of energy and eco-labelling research, and environmental research.
She has participated in compiling the two calculations of Finnish household production (Varjonen & Aalto 2005 and 2010). She participated recently in a EU funded research project “European Policies to Promote Sustainable Consumption Patterns” (EUPOPP) running from 2008 to 2011 (http://www.eupopp.net/default.htm). She has also studied the Nordic eco-labelling scheme (Aalto et al. 2008), and textile care including research in textilecare labelling.
