Research
The National Consumer Research Centre strives to anticipate factors that will impact on society and to identify alternative ways of meeting the challenges associated with consumption. Through research, it aims to influence decision-making and development in society and ultimately, the lives of consumers.The National Consumer Research Centre launches 20–30 research projects per year. Most of these take 2–3 years to complete. Research is funded by Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation), the Academy of Finland, the European Union and several ministries. In addition, the National Consumer Research Centre uses its own budget to finance studies on consumer, competition and innovation politics.
In 2013, the National Consumer Research Centre conducts research on:
• economy and functioning markets
• development of consumer politics
• sustainable living environments
• consumer well-being and involvement
As of the beginning of 2013, a total of 27 research projects are under way.
